Love the look
Wish I had done this sooner. The windows are exactly what I had envisioned. The installation team was super!

Very Poor Service & Quality
We purchased 20 essence windows all vertical grain wood. Their hardware is already falling off on 1/2 of them. We wanted the sliding glass door to have a lock on the outside but that is a separate purchase that you learn about afterwards. One of the window pane developed a crack and 5 months later we are still waiting on a replacement. We have not even moved into our house. We called customer service at least 20 times, no exaggeration, and are still waiting on their lifetime warranty. Perhaps it takes a lifetime to get the replacement. They are true to their warranty in that aspect. Our sliding glass door screen has already lost its hardware and they do not have any retail places that sell replacement parts. Please do not waste your time on this company. We spent over 20K and we are really disappointed.

Very dissatisfied
Dear Milgard
We purchased 11 new essence windows and a sliding Patio door from Mountain View Windows in Denver. We were assured that these were the top of the line windows and that although they were expensive, we would appreciate the quality and longevity of the windows.
6 of our windows failed within the first year. From the first time we contacted Mountain View about this problem to the time the windows were actually replaced took over 9 months. Milgard cancelled their appointment times with us twice with no notice. Our service rep, Guy, was unfriendly and unresponsive. He did not return calls and did not call at promised times.
A seventh window failed approximately 2 years after purchase. We dealt with Milgard directly for repairs and are awaiting the replacement shortly. The time period for this replacement has been better.
When we ordered our patio door, again through Mountain View, the first door never showed up, period. Mountain View informed us several months later that it had arrived broken and the had to refuse delivery. We ordered a second time and so far the door has been fine.
We are doing a remodel and have just ordered two more large windows as we needed them to match the other windows that we ordered. We can not pin down a delivery or manufacture date which is problematic to our project.
All in all, this windows look pretty but with 7 out of 11 failures and not so hot service I wouldn’t go this way again if I were starting over. The last two windows we just ordered came to over $1200. I would have been more satisfied if Milgard had offered us some sort of break on price as compensation for our time and hassle over the last two years but nothing was allowed or forthcoming. We can even get a delivery date or time frame for the new windows we purchased. If we didn’t need to match we would go with another company.

Poor Quality Control
Just had six large picture windows installed in my sunroom
Three of the six have flaws in the glass, one is so bad it can be seen from across the room. It's about 12" X 8" of scratches right in center of the window. It's inside between the panes. Don't think they have any type of quality control or this window would have never left the factory. It's so obvious. The other two are more minor, but noticeable upon close inspection.
The lower frame rail on all six widows are bowed up in center.
Customer service departments attitude is very lackadaisical and unconcerned with problems.
Overall I think it's a low end product, when I replace my house windows I'll try another brand.
